Roads across Barbados are generally of a good quality, though there does prove to be a fair few potholes along the way. Roads in more out of the way areas are usually of a worse quality, however. Bus services cover the entire island and run at a very cheap, flat rate – this does mean that they get very crowded at rush hour, however. Taxis are available and fares are government maintained, and mini buses are available for public transport – again at a flat rate. There are passenger boats that operate from Barbados, but most are for short leisure cruises, water sports and the like. There are no internal flights.
